Pastor Robert brings 23 years of dedicated leadership as the Lead Pastor of Powerhouse Christian Ministries. He also serves on the executive committee for Hope Sacramento, amplifying his impact beyond his congregation. Despite pushing God away in his young adult years, he found redemption and purpose in ministry. Passionate about developing future leaders, he actively mentors other pastors.  With a Masters of Divinity under his belt, he's currently pursuing a doctorate, continuing his commitment to spiritual growth and education. Beyond his pastoral duties, he finds joy in coaching golf, a hobby that offers both relaxation and opportunities for fellowship. As an office manager and youth pastor, Johanne is dedicated to nurturing both personal and professional growth. Her commitment to empowering others extends beyond the church walls. As the author of "Discovering Me Guided Journal," Johanne facilitates introspection and self-discovery journeys among youth. She actively participate in girls' groups, fostering confidence and leadership skills. At public schools, she serves as a guest speaker, inspiring students to embrace their potential and pursue their passions. Additionally, she is a keynote speaker for Dream Gurlz Network, championing messages of empowerment and resilience for women. With a heart for service and a dedication to uplifting others, she strives to create impactful change and to cultivate a future generation of confident, purpose-driven leaders.

Pastor Joel Veloz is the Oakland-born founder and Lead Pastor to Life Church Sacramento, where he has served since 2011. He serves as president of Hope Sacramento, a non-profit community development organization. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biblical Studies from Christian Life College in Stockton, CA. and an Associate degree in Music from De Anza Community College in Cupertino, CA. He’s been married to Elizabeth Veloz since 2003 and they are proud parents to 3 beautiful children - Eliana, Amiah and Ethan. He’s a die-hard Oakland A’s fan and loves food, coffee and jazz. He lives by the motto – live, love and matter!
